It's too dizzy to make sense of...
Jack groans as he opens his dark brown eyes, and then narrows them in confusion. He is startled, and jerks upward, glaring around the unfamiliar place. He appears to be in a darkened room, the lighting of the place pale and thin. It is an empty room, except for a table. But, he can see a door! Wary, Jack scrambles to his feet, but immediately feels dizzy. A sharp pain is a reminder to look at his arm. And sure enough, when he looks, there is a small white bandage. Jack stares, as if he can't comprehend what it his. Slowly, he lifts part of it. It reveals a swollen red mark, and from the brownish red stains on the bandage, he can tell that it has been bleeding. Something has been injected into him, he guesses.
But where am I?
Slowly, the memories come flooding back to Jack. Michael's betrayal. Being tied up, and the last thing he saw being Kate's face beside him as she too, was blindfolded by the Others. Kate! He has to save her. Determined, Jack walks quickly for the door...
BANG! Something invisible stops him. What, the Others have force-fields now? No. On closer inspection, Jack finds that it is merely glass. Thick glass, and nothing in his cell can be used to break it. He turns away in frustration, and looks around the rest of the room. Is that...an intercom system by the wall? Jack walks unsteadily over to it, his eyes searching. He presses the button.
"Hello?"
All he gets for an answer is fuzz. Jack snarls and turns away again. There had to be some way out...any way. Then he spots it: a chain hanging from the ceiling. It has to be connected to something...something that would break, and draw attention. Walking over, he leaps upon the table, and reaches for the chain. It clangs and clatters as he pulls it, every time harder, until he is putting all of his strength into it. So far, it won't give..

The door on the other side of the glass creaked open, although Jack probably wouldn't have noticed through the noise of the chain. A blue-eyed woman with medium-lengthed hair stood quietly in the doorway, only half visible because of the fact that the door was only half-open. She peered quietly at the man as he violently pulled the chain. What he was trying to accomplish, however, Juliet couldn't guess. She tilted her head slightly as she watched him, eyebrows raised skeptically. So, this was Jack Shepherd. Well, he looked a bit crazy to her.
A slight smirk played across Juliet's lips as she watched the scene in silence. Jack seemed so intent on...whatever it was that he was doing, that he still hadn't noticed her arrival. The chain rattled violently as he gave it yet another tug, causing Juliet to emit a soft sigh. If he kept this up, he was going to hurt himself.
"Stop that." She called quietly, raising her voice only just enough to allow herself to be heard over the commotion. Her voice wasn't cold, commanding, or stern. It was merely...her. She spoke with calm, quiet authority, her voice even bearing an edge of concern to it. Not that Juliet really expected Jack to listen to her. In fact, she doubted he'd even really acknowledge her. But every journey had its first steps.
---
Sawyer paced around his cage irritably, his eyes narrowed in anger. He had awoken only moments ago, drugged by those damn....whoever they were. He had disregarded the needle-mark on his arm,in fact, he had spitefully torn away the bandage. Hadn't he been put through enough? And yet, these people had no respect for him, still. They had thrown him in this god-forsaken...animal cage! Teeth gritting in anger, Sawyer stopped pacing to survey his empty surroundings. What had they done with Jack? What had they done with Kate? Despite himself, he couldn't help feeling slightly worried for her. If they had hurt her, then they'd pay.
Meanwhile, he decided to investigate his cage. Maybe there'd be a way out. The situation seemed grim, however, for not much was included in the large out-door prison except for some sort of odd machinery. A large red button with a fork and knife symbol imprinted on it caught his attention. As stubborn as Sawyer was, he had to admit he felt hungry. "This place probably only serves poison anyway." He muttered to himself, but even so, headed over to the button. Tentatively, he pressed it.
Warning
A monotone, robotic woman's voice sounded from some unknown speaker. Sawyer snorted in defiance, and pressed it again, as if simply to spite the machine.
Warning
It sounded again. Sawyer rolled his eyes, but this time, he hesitated. The last thing he needed was to hurt himself right now...still, what was the worst thing that could possibly happen? He reached forward again, but the instant he made contact with the large button, a sharp, electrical zap shot through his arm. It was so powerful that it sent him flying backward, and hurtling against the bars of the cage.
"Son of a--!"
Sawyer snarled, attempting to scramble to his feet.

When he hears a sound, Jack freezes. It is a sound of another voice, almost unfamiliar, for his own voice is hoarse. He tenses, an almost as a surprised reflex, obeys. He does not pull it again, at least for the moment, although his roughened hands still grip it, as if no table supports him and he is clinging to it for his life. Slowly, he turns to glare at who can only be one of them. An Other. The sick people who have played with the crash survivors' minds, who kidnapped Claire, dragged Sun into the jungle, and had hung Charlie from a tree. Those who had drugged Kate, Sawyer, and himself and had brought them here, who had lied and tricked them all every step of the way. And yet, Jack glares at the stranger, and she is...herself, whoever that might be. She is calm, even gentle with her words, and it takes him aback. But it doesn't fool him, not even for a minute.
"Who are you?" He demands of her, never taking his eyes off of her as if he suspected that she could somehow teleport through the glass and attack him if he did. Jack keeps his voice low with suspicion and frustration, almost like an animal's growl. But he does not move, despite her soft command.
****
Watery green eyes stare at the ground, but Kate does not let these tears fall as she is thrust, a little ungracefully, a few paces ahead of a tough looking Other. He grabs her by the arm, for she is bound by handcuffs, and leads her to a cage much like Sawyer's, only opposite from the Southerner. His touch is anything but gentle, and Kate grimaces as he unlocks the cage door and thrusts her inside. With a harsh clatter, the door slams shut and is locked again.
"Stick your hands through the bars" commands the person. Kate hesitates, but does so. He removes her hand-cuffs, leaving her to draw her arms back. She rubs her wrists tenderly, wincing. The hand-cuffs have left rings of raw, bleeding skin, which she will not look at, as if this was admitting her own defeat. Instead, she looks at Sawyer, relieved to see him alive.
"Hey." Kate says softly.

Roxie;; OOC// Man, my posts S U C K more than usual today! Dead silence fell in the small room as Jack paused, only to be broken again when he demanded to know her identity. Juliet only tilted her head slightly, a slight, rather mysterious smile creeping across her features. She chose not to answer at first. Instead, taking advantage of the sudden silence, she slipped quietly through the door and closed it with a light click behind her. With confidence and purpose, Juliet moved further into the room, stopping only a few yards from the glass to sit lightly on a small table, and adjust some sort of electric device. Obviously, this was used as an audio system, for she fingered one of the buttons for mere moments before turning back tot he man before her. " I take it you can hear me in there?"
Juliet asked, slightly amused.
"I'm Juliet." Her words were so simple, so abrupt, but she spoke casually, as if she were introducing herself to a new neighbor or co-worker.
--
Moments later, Sawyer was standing, his head bowed, his body pressed gently against the cold metal bars. What kind of place was this? He was left to stand here, worrying about himself, about Kate, and...alright, about Jack as well. Sawyer wasn't in control any more. He was a prisoner, and he didn't know what was happening to him. Worse, there didn't look like there was going to be a way to get out of this one. He was helpless. And he hated it.
However, at that moment, his thoughts were interrupted. There was a soft crackling sound as someone approached, and his head instinctively shot up. There, approaching the empty cage across from him, as a disgruntled looking man and...
For once in his life, Sawyer could only gape as he recognized her, the woman who had been one of the only things filling his thoughts for the past few hours. Kate. She didn't look at him, or at her captor, but kept her eyes on the dirt-ridden jungle ground. He watched still, as the man forced her into the cage. At this rather violent movement, Sawyer felt his fists instantly clench, but he said nothing. It was better that way, wasn't it? As the man left them alone, he turned his attention back to Kate, who had finally met his gaze.
"How you doin', Freckles?" He replied, slightly gruffly, although genuine concern actually shown in his steady gaze.

Her answer is so simple and to-the-point that it surprises Jack. He had expected her to dodge the question. Still, there is a chance that this woman, Juliet, is lying. Whatever. He doesn't care what her name really is. She's probably here to question him. As if to spite her, he rattles the chain disgruntledly, but doesn't take his eyes off of her. Juliet is so calm that it both confuses and infuriates him.
"Where are Kate and Sawyer?"
Jack asks her, his voice chilled.
****
Sawyer's voice is so unsually tender, and she is so relieved to see him alive, that Kate has to fight to keep her emotions from causing tears to well in her green eyes. She still cradles her wrists slightly, but has ceased from rubbing them, as it seems to only agitate the angry cuts more. Kate looks at him, bites her lip, and smiles a little at his use of his nick-name for her.
"I'm O.K." She shrugs it off as if there is nothing wrong here, he eyes lowering for a minute before she collects herself. "They put handcuffs on me." Kate motions to her reddened wrists as if to explain it. She doesn't want Sawyer to worry too much.
"What about you?"

Juliet didn't flinch as he snarled at her once again, but merely held her blue gaze steady. Another small, hidden smile spread across her face, not out of amusement, but out of acknowledgment of Jack's concern for his friends. However, she did not give him a direct answer this time, a sudden change from the simplicity of her last words. With a quick and gentle motion of her hand, Juliet spoke.
"Come down from the table first."
She insisted gently, earnestly. She still smiled, not a mocking smile, but one of genuine understanding. Other than that, Juliet did not allow much else to show through into her expression. Jack seemed enraged at the moment, and she could hardly blame him. Therefore, Juliet could only expect another loud or snappy response from him, but new better than to become angry. Raising her voice would only make things worse, and if she were to gain his trust, she'd have to earn it first. And so Juliet sat, earnestly, her gaze pleading him silently to do as she asked.
---
Sawyer eyed her wrists, merely nodding in acceptance of this, although anger lit in his gaze. These people were treating them like prisoners, like animals, locking them in these damned cages. It was enough to drain the hope out of him, but he had to remain strong and defiant. For Kate, if for no other reason. If they both lost hope, then they'd never get out of here. Anyway...there had to be some way out.
"Just dandy," Sawyer rolled his eyes to indicate his sarcasm. "I requested that cage, but there you go." He gave her a calm smirk. Perhaps this wasn't the best time to make jokes, but that was what Sawyer did. He didn't, couldn't deal with this sort of thing. Sarcasm and humor were his way of hiding his feelings. Taking this opportunity to survey Kate's cage, he stretched his neck to see behind her. It looked very much the same. Old, and rusty. Disdainfully, Sawyer shook his head and looked away, meeting Kate's gaze again. OOC//Ach, muse-less.
