OOC//Here's your thread, Swifty. Don't bite my head off, I just feel like rping with her ^^
IC//Soft pawsteps padded noiselessly against the soft earth of the marshland. In the mist, the she-cat's silhouette seemed almost ghostly, the white spots seeming to give a faint glow, while the darker orange and black patches appearing as if they were smoke. The loner's leaf-green eyes, usually shining, were now dimmed in the darkened area. Massie had no idea what she was doing out here. In...ShadowClan territory no less. It was practically suicide for a loner to wander alone into Clan territory when they were so tense these days. But she needed a place to think, and this seemed a good place to do so. Not many cats seemed to want to wander here. Besides, risk had always been a 'fun' part of Massie's life. It might have been better if she could see, though.
As the ground gave slightly before her into a wet, watery mud, a soft hiss of surprise escaped her as she recoiled, dabbing at the marsh water tentatively with one white paw. Idiot! If you had wandered much further in that little thought-trance, you'd be soaked or worse right now! She rebuked herself quietly, ears quickly flicking back against her head before straightening again. Looking around, Massie sighed softly. She could barely see three rabbit-hops before her on this particular day. Heck, she didn't even know where she was going! No, I'm not lost...I just need to give it some time. The loner thought stubbornly.
But who was she kidding? What a mouse-brain! Why had she even come here?
...That question could answer itself, and Massie knew it. It had been something Mikkikko had said last night, something that had been gradually nagging at the back of her mind more and more lately. She had suggested Leafwhisper's death as fate, and her mate had readily denied this. Now, Massie had never been one to believe in StarClan exactly, but she always felt...re-assured that there was something beyond this. But now, she wasn't so sure. What if there wasn't? The calico doubted if she had ever felt more alone than she did now...Maybe half of her hoped that she'd find an answer here. Or maybe she just...needed to get away for awhile.

OOC: Whoa, that's some long rp, why do u hav to make everything so long and detailed >_< you make my posts look like nothing T_T lol tis ok, but I see where you're going with this.
The wind was silent. The pale sunlight of the day seemed to cast a veil of depression on everybody in the camp, dampening moods. Much of Shadowclan was quiet nowadays, there was no battles, no particularly noticeable disputes, things were quiet, not that the tabby minded. Peace and quiet suited him fine. That meant less work, and more time to persue leisurely activities such as examining different organisms and experimenting remedies.
The tabby casually padded past a large rock with rather odd looking moss growing over it like mould on bread, but paid little attention to it. He had already seen this and experimented and with no good results on a rash, remembering how he felt like his entire pelt had ticks all over them. Some things were better left untouched. Heading straight into the marsh, he felt his fur tingle. This was odd. Bramblenose always thought he had a personal alarm kind of thing. He had always had odd feelings when something potentially dangerous was approaching, like the time when he met a wild rogue by a river that sprang out of nowhere on his travels, if he had been careless, the rogue could have easily knocked him into the rushing rapids. It was a reassuring trait that the medicine cat was proud of and something that he wasn't going to stop believing in now.
Changing course and quietly padding into a clump of nearby cattails, Bramblenose feasibly remained, hind legs ready to pounce for whatever may approach. This time, he was going to surprise someone else for a change.

OOC//Lol sorry Swifty! My thread starters are usually like that. The rest of my posts? Ubberly museless.
IC// Perhaps if Massie had been a bit more careful, if her ears had been pricked and straining for the sound of any cat, if her eyes had been staring ahead instead of tracing the ground, if she had bothered to stop and scent the breeze for any ShadowClan scent, she would have been forewarned of Bramblenose's presence. But the loner was so caught up in her own thoughts that she did none of these things. Eyes narrowing thoughtfully, she gave her calico pelt a brisk shake, before deciding to walk on. She'd eventually have to cross the border some time. With a soft growl, the loner flexed her claws before padding forward through what seemed to be a deserted marshland. She didn't even notice the tabby tom, who's pelt blended naturally with the cat-tails and bracken, while her multi-colored one normally stood out. In fact, Massie was heading right toward the medicine cat's hiding place, her movements slow and wary...she didn'y fanct getting wet again...

OOC: well, it's still pretty long for a "normal" post! Bramblenose waited silently. Each second seemed like hours. The faint and eerie sunlight gave the bog a mysterious feeling, it chilled the tabby to his bones. On his journey, he never quite encountered a place like this...maybe it was magical...or something else. Shaking off his thoughts, Bramblenose focussed back on whatever might be coming. Focussing his eyes into slits, the medicine cat thought over his options. If this was an enemy cat, he had the advantage of surprise. However, he could barely be counted as a warrior with the limited skills he had. Digging deeper into his brain, he tried to figure a way to calculate his benefits before the new intruder had arrived. A faint padding of paws...Wait. Bramblenose turned a little to his left and scented the air. There was a cat, it was...not of any clan he had known..then again, he hadn't actually memorized the scent of the other clans yet, all he knew however was that this cat wasn't from his own clan. The calico cat appeared to be carelessly padding straight forward, giving Bramblenose a clear view of her facial features. It was a she-cat...the medicine cat examined the cat from her green eyes to the whiskers. Looking around, he noticed the she-cat was specifically avoiding the water from the bog. Racking his brain for some sort of idea of what to do, planning whether to attack her outright or pin her and ask questions. Mulling it over for a second, Bramblenose turned back to the she-cat. If this she-cat was indeed coming as a threat in terms of a scout of spy, then for one, she wouldn't be walking so casual, instead, she would be attempting to sneak around and at least made an effort to hide her scent. Secondly, she was alone. If this was an attack, it would be a feeble one especially walking so cluelessly into another clan's territory. Suddenly he just noticed that she was on a direct collision course for him in the cattails. Bramblenose had little time to think as he frantically decided what to do. After a few seconds. He turned back to look at her and slowly walked out of the cattails, abandoning his cover, now in plain view of the she-cat. Looking directly at the leaf-green eyes, he spoke calmly, "This is Shadowclan, what have you come here for?"

At the sudden appearance of the other cat, Massie instinctively tensed. She paused mid-step, her leaf-green eyes narrowing as Bramblenose's own gaze bore into hers, although she did not flinch away. So these were Clan-cats now-a-days? They didn't look so different from loners she had ever seen. But they were, and Massie knew it. Her claws flexed into the soft ground in annoyance, for tabby tom now blocked her path. Her ears flattened momentarily, but she forced herself to stay calm, straightening to meet the tom's gaze defiantly. In spite of herself, her calico pelt was now bristling indignantly at this confrontation. "Not to play games, unfortunately for you. I'm just passing through here, so please step aside." Massie's words were formal and snappy, as they often were when she spoke to someone whom she didn't know very well. Evasively, the loner at last averted her gaze, tail lashing behind her.

Bramblenose was mildly surprised by her response. Normally, loners would be more cautious of these things, but this she-cat seemed distracted, focussing on nothing else except her destination...or so it seems. The she-cat was defintely tense, but then again, it was foolish to try and pass through a clan territory, especially with the risk of being spotted. This she-cat obviously hasn't thought this through, or perhaps that her situation required her to pass Shadowclan on account of time...but then again, how foolish was this she-cat to expect loners and rogues to listen and obey stranglers and to let them pass. Why doesn't Shadowclan just invite other clans in to check in on them while they're at it? Giving the calico cat a defiant glare, he replied in a still calm voice, although forcibly holding back, "I'm sorry, that can't be done" he tried reasoning, "please turn around and try another way." This she-cat didn't seem to be the negotiating type, although he prayed to Starclan that this wasn't true. Standing his ground, Bramblenose was determined to obey by his clan rules and turn any intruders, whether rival clans or loners and rogues, silently hoping that this wasn't going to turn into a fight.

Her calico fur raised defensively, and the loner bristled as her fierce gaze traveled directly to meet the tom's, her tail still lashing behind her. Massie unsheathed her claws warily, seeming to tense and fall silent for a moment. "I'm not asking anymore, Clan-pet." She rubuked coldly, green gaze still never leaving the tabby's. Her eyes narrowed as she crept toward him, pausing only a few tail-lengths away. "This doesn't look like much of a territory." She remarked suddenly, glancing around the marsh. "I certainly don't want it, and I don't know why you lot do. I'm not after prey, my barn is on the other side of the marsh, and I need to get home." With this brief explanation, she thrust herself forward to the slight left of the medicine cat, attempting to shoulder past him.

Bramblenose sighed in frustration. Why did some cats have to be so difficult? Stepping in the path of the she-cat, he looked defiantly back. "I'm sure you understand about territorial matters. As the same case you wouldn't like your barn to be open for everycat to walk in." Silently looking back at the general destination where the she-cat was headed, he cursed himself for his luck, was a nice quiet day of gathering too much to ask? If this was indeed going to turn out into a battle, not even he would know the outcome. The camp was awhile away, and it was doubtful any of his clanmates were going to coincidentally pop by unless fortune suddenly decides to turn his way. Using the environment to his advantage would be the only way of prevailing.

Massie glared at the tom cooly, but her gaze did not soften. "All I understand is that your clan takes a quarter of this pathetic forest while they're about five cats living within it, while we loners only claim a barn for shelter. I didn't choose to enter your camp." Considering the situation, her voice was eeriely calm, although her eyes remained narrowed. Her orange ears flattened to her head, her claws digging into the ground in frustration. The loner was clearly in a hostile mood, but didn't attack just then. Why did he have to be so stubborn? She was only trying to get home! Icily, Massie looked the tabby up and down, as if sizing up an opponent. "Are we going to have to do this the hard way?" She meowed at last, her cold tone emotionless now.

This situation wasn't good...infact it was terrible, and getting worse. Why couldn't this she-cat understand that she couldn't intrude on other cat's territories? Regaining composure, Bramblenose looked back at the green eyes that stared back at him, "If you didn't choose to enter our camp then why are you here?" There are other ways of reaching their barn, that was for sure, however it was clear cutting a path straight through Shadowclan territory would be faster. "Please understand, it is the clan rules that I cannot allow any intruders to enter our territory." This was pathetic...acting so demeaning. Sighing inwardly, he gave himself a mental note to try and learn some fighting skills; thinking seems to use more energy than fighting now. "If I don't stop you now, the others within the clan won't hesitate to attack you when you are within clan boundaries." If this could carry on, perhaps help could come before this got messy.

"What happens to me after you let me through is none of your concern. I'm not going to tell you again, step aside!" Spat Massie, her tail lashing beside her. She had half a mind to claw the tom's eyes out then and there, but tried to control her temper...something that wasn't one of her strengths. The tension that laid heavily in the air now seemed to prick at her calico pelt. The loner's ears were still flattened to her head as she waited for the tabby's response, shifting her gaze sulkily to the stoney ground. There was a long moment of silence before Massie shifted her gaze again, sighing softly. "Look, I really am not in the mood for fighting right now. I'm not going to harm your precious territory, I just didn't think it'd be too much to ask to get home before nightfall." She added, calming reluctantly.

Bramblenose was a patient tom, but this she-cat was wearing it thin. She wouldn't listen to any sense at all. Tail twitching nervously, he looked at Massie. This wasn't the wisest choice to pick a fight. But his place within the clan was at stake if he allowed this loner to wander through Shadowclan territory. There had to be another way....Think... "Listen, if you advance any further, my clan mates will attack you without fail." This wasn't part of the code but he had little choice in the matter. "I'll help you through a route into Shadowclan and to your barn. It seems you want to make it in on time, however if you happen to meet a Shadowclanner, you'll not only be late, but lucky if you manage without some serious injury" Bramblenose offered, knowing full well what would happen if he was caught by his clanmates helping a loner through Shadowclan territory.
