Stonebrook Academy for the Gifted, they called it. But we're not gifted. We're cursed.
Children and teens across the nation have been developing strange, and sometimes dangerous abilities. No one knows how or why, it just happens. And it's happening more and more often. The thing is, these people have no idea what's happening to them, or how to control it. They need help, and fast, before things get out of hand.
The government decided to keep it all a secret. No one had to know, and the normal people could go on with their daily lives. But how do you hide something this big? The solution was found one day by a man with a dream. And so Stonebrook Academy was built, a school for all who bear such abilities. At first, Stonebrook was a wonderous and magical place. But as time slipped on, things grew different, and some began to wonder: was Stonebrook a place for them to learn to control their powers, or a place meant to erase them completely?
As darker secrets emerge, tension crackles in the air. Some believe that these powers should be controlled and used only for the good of the 'magical' world, while others believe that they should take the world by a storm and punish those who sent them into hiding. Stonebrook is being split, and before long, violence could be the outcome. A shadow falls on Nevermoore City, and the academy hidden within.
