I set out on a narrow way
Many years ago.
Hoping I would find true love
Along the broken road.
A small tortoiseshell she-cat was moving through the trees and the dead leaves that covered the ground. She'd been feeling so free-spirited lately. So grateful for life. The wind picked up from behind her, pausing her in her tracks as it rushed by. A few leaves scattered, and one launched itself into the air. Despite her age -for though she wasn't an elder, she wasn't the youngest cat in the camp-, she leapt after it, swatting it with her paw, then chased it onward.
Though life with the clan hadn't been ideal lately, with everything going on, she still felt so much alive, and that she had a lot to be thankful for. The journey had been anything but perfect, but it had turned out better then most cats could dream of these days. She had a loving mate, a clan that she was extreamly loyal to, friends, her kits, and her family all back together. Well, the majority of it...
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are.
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms.
This much I know is true...
She chased the browned leaf into the familiar clearing that her feet seemed to have brought her to. That of the Great Sycamore. The clearing beside the great tree was the one she loved the best. Most of her good memories were there, and even a few she would prefer forgetting. However, everything bad had worked out for the better. Now Dawnfur pounced on the leaf playfully, her fur smoothing out now that the breeze had subsided. Her green eyes flashed with the enthusiasm she had once had as a young warrior. Oh yes indeed, she had much to be thankful for.
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.
