Okay, this is a sucky start, but Im too museless to make it all shnazzy tonight. Tess, hopefully your chappie will be better.
4x01: Look North (Nobody Centric Cause Im too museless to make up flashbacks and I havent arranged it all with Tessa yet.)
Wide blue eyes opened, staring around wildly. One might've got the sensation that they were staring into the eyes of a madman...and they might have been right.
The man gave a half-hearted yank at his restraints, although he already knew that the ropes binding him to the tree wouldn't come loose. Grimacing, he averted his gaze from the grassy fround, lifting it to meet the familiar brown gaze of the girl whom, for the past sixteen years, he had been calling his daughter. She stared back at him sadly, but made no move toward him, said nothing. He sighed.
"I don't even get a bit of stale bread and water?" Benjamin Linus joked half-heartedly.
Her eyes narrowed, and she remained silent. Ben's face grew more serious.
"Alex,"
"No."
"Everything I have done, I have done to keep you safe. And now...this is where you belong."He reasoned quietly.
Alex lifted her chin. "I know."
"...Jack has called them, Alex. I thought you would be safe here, but now, I fear that none of us will be safe anywhere." In that moment, it seemed important that he get the message across to her. But Alex's only response was to look away. He couldn't tell whether she was angry or sad.
Ben turned away as well, surveying the rest of the camp warily. Claire, Sun, and Rose sat huddled together, Claire craydling her baby tenderly. The three woman were bound together by both fear and hope, for each of their lovers had stayed behind in the battle with his people. A few feet away, Kate and Jack were discussing something, looking serious. Because of the distance between them, Ben could not make it out.
-------------
"We'll need to get back to the beach, then." Kate told him, her voice lowered. "Where the rescue boat can find us."
Jack nodded. He felt exhilerated and relieved. A few hours from now, they could be on a boat. They could be going home. And though he refused to play Ben's mind-games, there was something about what the leader of the Others had said that sent a shiver down his spine. He wouldn't be celebrating until they were all safely on Naomi's boat.
"I'll call back to the beach, then. Can you get everyone else ready to leave?" Jack asked her. Kate glanced back at the large crowd of people and nodded silently, letting her gaze linger on him for only a moment longer before turning away and heading back toward the others.
Once she had gone, Jack turned away, took out the walkie-talkie, and turned it on. "Hurley?"
There was a moment of static-y silence before Hurley's familiar voice replied. "Jack? Did you make the call?" He asked anxiously.
Jack smiled.
"Yeah--yeah, Naomi's boat is coming. We're gonna head back to your location on the beach, it shouldn't take too long to get there."
"YES! Dudes, we're rescued!" He could hear Hurley calling to his companions, and chuckled.
"You guys holding up okay over there?"
"Yeah, we're good. We, uh buried the...bodies." Hurley replied. Jack knew that he was squimish when it came to blood, but Hurley seemed to have collected himself and continued. "Bernard and Jin are here. They say hi, and Sawyer, Juliet, and Sayid should be back soon."
Jack smiled. "Okay. We'll be over there."He paused. "Keep everyone safe, okay?"
"Yeah, you too. See ya soon!"
When Hurley ended the conversation, Jack ended the transmission, his brow furrowed in thought. Hurley hadn't seemed to have realized what Jack had meant. He just hoped they'd reach the beach before the boat did. Just to be safe.
-----------
"Hey guys, and, uh, chick, Jack did it! We're saved! We--we made it!" Hurley called, bounding down the beach as Sayid, Sawyer, and Juliet trudged back up the shore toward them. The three of them had volunteered to finish burrying Tom a ways down the shore, a considerable amount away from where the fallen 815 survivors had been burried. Before any of them could speak, Hurley had enveloped them all in a large bear-hug. This turned out to be rather awkward, seeing as the three people he was hugging were, well, who they were.
"Yeah, yeah," Sawyer mumbled stiffly. "Let's save the sappiness for later, huh Hallmark?"
Hurley grinned, abashed, and stepped away. "You guys okay?"
There was a tense pause in which Sawyer and Sayid glanced over at Juliet, who fixed her gaze on Hurley steadily. They all knew that she'd been stunned when Sawyer had shot Tom right in front of her, but none of them knew how the former Other would be affected.
"Yeah," She said calmly and shifted her gaze toward the Southerner and the Iraqi. "We're fine."
Only hours had passed on the beach as the sun sunk below the horizon, but it felt like an eternity. Everyone on the beach was tense and excited, and time had never passed more slowly than it did now. Prier to this, Hurley had been jabbering on and on excitedly, telling stories and jokes in an attempt to lighten the mood. But now even he seemed to have fallen into the complete, tense silence that had enveloped the ruins of the camp.
"So..."Bernard spoke at last. "You think we're really getting out of here this time?"
Before anyone could answer, a sudden sound of footsteps cracking and breaking through the undergrowth could be heard, accompanied by the low buzz of voices. The six of them tensed even more if this was possible, before standing and turning to meet those whom they had been seperated from hours and days ago.
LOST
{Okay, so our episodes will be short, who cares! I gotta go anyways, Tess, you can write the reunion!}
