Name: Hawkwing
Age: 32 moons
Gender: Tom Cat
Clan: WindClan
Position: Leader
Description: Hawkwing is small and lithe, like most WindClan cats. His tabby pelt is mottled with different shades of gray and orange, and his stripes are black. His muscles ripple under his pelt, visible, but not totally apparent. This makes cats who don't know him underestimate his strength. His striped legs and tail are long, giving him better balance for when he's chasing swiftly after rabbits and invading cats. His claws are unusually long, so he's pretty good at gripping things like tree trunks, the ground, and cats who are trying to shake him off in battle.
His ears are a little big for his head, and very light pink on the inside. Most of the fur on his face is gray, but he has a wide orange stripe running down his forehead to his nose, and it slides off on the right side of his muzzle. His nose is pink like his ears, and long whiskers are white. His most distinctive feature is his eyes. They're an abnormal brown, like the feathers of a hawk, and are always shining.
Personality: Hawkwing was always seen as one of three when he was younger. His older brother, Brambletail, was the big, bold one. Very loyal, very lovable, always thinking up mischevious ideas that got them into endless amounts of trouble. Yellowbird, his younger sister, was always a bit timid and shy. She was also very good at analyzing situations. Sometimes she over analyzed them. Hawkwing and Brambletail were very protective of her in their younger days. Luckily, Yellowbird grew out of her shell toward the end of their apprenticeship.
Hawkwing, however, had always been the one stuck in the middle. He was the caring, clever, observant one. He picked up on things long before either of his siblings did. And not just battle moves and hunting techniques. He often knew if something strange was going on in the clan. Hawkwing had also been the one to find the fox den on the edge of their territory. They'd had to chase away a skinny vixen and her three cubs before they wandered further into WindClan lands in search of food. Hawkwing and his siblings became warriors that day.
The tabby tom has always had a big heart too. He's patient with younger cats, and takes care to stay on good terms with the cranky Clan elders, and makes sure the queens always have enough food and water. He's brilliant in battle. He was one of the few cat's in the leader's inner circle whenever they were discussing battle plans because of his clever mind. You'd think that being part of the leader's inner circle would go to his head and make him arrogant, but nobody was more modest than Hawkwing.
But Hawkwing isn't perfect. He has an overactive imagination and often imagines the worst in as many ways possible. He worries constantly, though he tries to only ever show his confidence. After all, he believes in his Clan and their strength to come out of whatever they're put through and be stronger for it. More than anything, he doubts himself. His biggest weakness, however, is that he's too trusting.
Crush: Soon-to-be Foxheart, of course.
History: Hawkwing was born to the WindClan warriors Beechfoot and Ivyheart on a dark and stormy night in leafbare. Everyone was surprised that Ivyheart had planned to kit so deep into leafbare, especially since the moore provided little shelter beside a few badger sets and bramble bushes. But the truth was, Ivyheart was as surprised as they were. She hadn't planned on having kits yet. In truth, she'd hoped to continue serving her clan as a warrior and earning respect so that perhaps one day, she could become WindClan's deputy. Nevertheless, when she had her kits, she couldn't help but love them.
She snuck away into the trees bordering the edge of the territory to have them, curling into a hollow tree on high ground to wait out the storm. She was concerned that the nursery in camp wouldn't be enough shelter for her kits. It was a very hard birth for Ivyheart. It was her first litter, and there had been a few complications. Luckily, at the end of the day, when the storm finally subsided, there were three healthy kits suckling happily while Ivyheart rested. She named them Hawkkit, Bramblekit, and Yellowkit.
Beechfoot found his mate three days later, still hidden in the hollow tree. She was unconscious and wouldn't wake. She had lost a lot of blood, and with three nursing kits, she'd only managed to get up and hunt for herself once. And even then, she'd stayed close to the hollow, fearing some creature would find her kits. When they got her back to camp, Ivyheart spent the next three sunrises in the medicine cats den. She was still weak when she returned to the nursery, but by the time the kits were a moon old, she had fully recovered.
Hawkkit and his siblings were the only kits in the nursery growing up, so they were unusually close. They did everything together. Even when they became apprentices, they spent all their time together when they weren't training or tending to the elders. However, when they became warriors, they began to slowly drift apart.
Brambletail broke away first when he fell in love with she-cat and ended up splitting his time between his mate and warrior duties. And then, soon after, his kits. Hawkwing and Yellowbird felt a little awkward about this at first, but eventually came to realize that it was only natural, and they were happy for their brother.
And then Yellowbird fell fast and hard for a passing rogue. When he left she fell into a sort of depression. She would do as she was told and no more, and the entire Clan noticed when she began loosing weight. Her brothers tried to talk to her, get her to forget Sasha and eat more so she wouldn't accidently starve herself. But then the rogue returned a moon later, confessing that he felt the same way about Yellowbird as she obviously did about him. But he also confessed that he wasn't suited for Clan life. In the end, Yellowbird left to Clan to be with him.
Hawkwing, however, stayed focused on serving his clan with his cunning mind and caring nature, and proved his loyalty time and time again. When the WindClan's leader, the one who had first been Windsong's deputy, died, and Emorystar took her place, Hawkwing became WindClan's deputy, much to his surprise. Although it wasn't much of a shock to anyone else. He was only deputy for a moon when he was forced to take over the role of leader when Emorystar unexpectedly died. He has yet to go to the Moonstone to receive his nine lives.
