The Name Game;
Alright. So you've read the rules, you've read all about the Clans and about how to name your character. You've got a character in mind, but you still just can't come up with the perfect name! Well, you came to the right place.
Below is an extensive list of names, broken down into first part names, and last part names (as all Clan cats have compound names). Now, if your character is a kit, an apprentice or a leader, all you have to do is find the perfect first name, as their names will end in kit, paw or star. If your character is a warrior, queen, medicine cat or elder, then you get to have a little more fun.
The names on these lists are all names that have been found somewhere in the Warriors series. A few of them are names taken from the Tribe of Endless Hunting or from our favorite loners, but most of them are from the Clans. However, this does not mean that you are limited to this list. If you think of a name that falls under our "reasonable and realistic" rule, by all means go for it. If we find that it doesn't now meet our standards of reasonable and realistic, we will be sure to let you know.
These names are intended for Clan cats, however, that can also be used for loners, rogues and kittypets should you choose to use them. However, with these three type of cats, you have a little more flexibility in choosing their names. Keep that in mind.
This is how we admins used to choose our names way back in the day when we were all newbies. We would choose a number between 1 and (whatever the last number on the first list is) and then choose a number between 1 and (whatever the last number on the second list is), search out the names associated with the number, and see how they worked together, and if they fit our character.
The first list is, clearly, longer than the second list because the last part of a warrior's name is often recycled. There is definitely more flexibility in choosing the first part of your character's name. I apologize if there are any duplicates. Also, many of these names are interchangeable between lists. Use your own discretion when choosing a name, and remember that the admins accepting biographies will always have final say. If your character is an apprentice, when he or she becomes a warrior, the leader of his or her clan will decide his or her warrior name. Now, on to the Name Game! Enjoy!
